The case of Irina Khalip, the wife of the leader of the civil campaign “European Belarus”, the presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov, has been passed to the Minsk City Court, Zavodskii (Factory) District. Together with Irina in the case are co-chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, Pavel Severinets, and the head of the electoral headquarters of candidate Nikolai Statkevich, Sergei Martselev.

Today, 16 April, activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” held a rally of solidarity with political prisoners in Warsaw.

Today an application was lodged with the the prosecutor, concerning a change in the restraint measures against ex-candidate Andrei Sannikov, an ending of the criminal case against him and the carrying out of a further investigation.

On 8 April the KGB carried out a third search in the flat of presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov and journalist Irina Khalip.

Late on Friday evening, the presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov finished reading the criminal case against him.

The charges against the coordinator of the civil campaign “European Belarus”, Dmitrii Bondarenko, have been changed.

Viktor Ivashkevich was arrested on Freedom Day in Minsk and sentenced for alleged hooliganism. Ivan Shilo was convicted for an act of solidarity with Dmitrii Dashkevich and Edward Lobov.

The police are again searching for Alexei Senchilo, an activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus”. According to the mother of the activist, police officials came to his home on 25 March and stood guard at the entrance for several hours.
