Today at about eight o’clock in the evening Aleksandr Kudlaev, an activist of “European Belarus”, was arrested for hanging up banners with the words “Freedom for political prisoners!”

(Updated) The coordinator of “European Belarus” and member of Andrei Sannikov’s team has been judged after a one day case.

Activists of “European Belarus” hung out a banner in Minsk today with a demand to release the coordinator of the civil campaign “European Belarus”, Dmitrii Bondarenko.

In Polotsk an hour ago, activists from Sannikov’s campaign staff, Viktor Kolesnik and Aleksandr Kalintsev, were arrested. They were taken to the city police department.

Darya Korsak, the wife of political prisoner Aleksandr Otroshchenkov, who was sentenced by a “puppet” court to 4 years in jail, has been unable to meet with her husband.

The authorities are accelerating the reprisals against political prisoners. On 26 April in the Pervomaiskiy District Court of Minsk the trial of the coordinator of “European Belarus”, Dmitriy Bondarenko, will begin; and that of presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov will begin on 27 April, in Partizanskiy District Court.

Alla Vladimirovna Sannikov, the mother of the arrested former presidential candidate, has appealed to Belarusians for support.

The trial of presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov will be on 27 April.

A court judgment of the coordinator of “European Belarus” will take place “for political motives” in the Pervomaiskii District Court of Minsk.
