More than hundred people came to solidarity action with church
Prayer for returning of St Josef Church was held near the church 14 April, ahead of Solidarity Day. More than a hundred members of the civil campaign “European Belarus” took part in prayer.
No to militia mayhem!
Palina and Paval Kuryanovich, activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus,” were released on 12 April. Brother and sister were detained at different protests actions. Paval was detained at the picket demanding to stop repressions by Chinese military forces in Tibet, Palina – at the action near the Russian embassy, where young Belarusians came with a poster “No to Russia, yes to European Union!”
Lukashenka’s regime provokes U.S. to impose international sanctions
“Closed discussion in the Belarusian “parliament” on air defence system building in Venezuela is in the line of war with the U.S. Someone is drawing anti-American line and trying to include a military component into there. It is apparently made for the U.S. to take Lukashenka’s regime seriously and to demand imposing of international sanctions,” Andrei Sannikov, international coordinator of Charter’97, thinks.
All participants of demonstration of 25 March released
All people, detained for participation in the action on Freedom Day 25 March, were released from the detention center on Akrestin Street, where they had served 15 days of arrest.

Riot militia broke ribs of participants of Freedom Day demonstration
Doctors of Minsk hospital No 3 diagnosed Andrei Babitski, activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus,” with “closed displaced fracture of eighth rib.” The youth activist and dozens of other participants of the demonstration on 25 March were beaten up brutally by riot militiamen. Emergency brigade, called to the Savetski district internal affairs department, refused to help the oppositionist.
