The European Union will evaluate the situation in Belarus in the light of the nation’s September 28 parliamentary elections and of the progress made in embracing the values of democracy and human rights, said EU foreign ministers in conclusions on Belarus adopted at an External Relations Council meeting in Brussels on September 15.

Hunger Strike announced in prison in Akrestsin Street

Meanwhile an activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus” Paval Kuryanovich is to stand trial in the court of Maskouski district of Minsk.
Karadzic flown to Hague tribunal
The former Bosnian Serb leader, Radovan Karadzic, has arrived in the Netherlands to face trial before a UN war-crimes tribunal in The Hague.
Mr Karadzic, arrested in Belgrade last week after 13 years on the run, will appear before the tribunal on Thursday.
