European parliament adopted resolution on situation in Belarus
Today the European parliament has adopted a resolution on situation in Belarus. It is offered to suspend visa sanctions against some of Belarusian officials for half a year, though the last “parliamentary election” was recognized not free and undemocratic. The resolution was adopted with 597 votes in favour, 31 against and 22 abstentions.
Stubb was surprised that repressions against opposition take place
The OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Finnish Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb who was in Minsk on a visit, met representatives of the Belarusian opposition after meetings with officials.

Kristiina Ojuland, vice speaker of the Estonian Parliament, vice chairperson of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), who planned to visit Belarus on October 9–10, was denied a visa.

It has been stated today at a press-conference in Minsk by leaders of the Belarusian opposition Andrei Sannikov, Lyavon Barshcheuski, Viktar Ivashkevich and Zmitser Dashkevich. The results of the “parliamentary elections” have been rigged, the voting turnout was warmed up several times. A real people’s boycott of the electoral farce has taken place in Belarus.

“European Belarus” activists beaten up during detention
Activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” who were detained yesterday before the protest rally against rigged results of the parliamentary ”election” are released. There were three of them, not five as earlier reports said: Paval Kuryanovich, Kanstantsin Ivanou and Marta Majseenka. Kuryanovich and Majseenka were beaten during detention. Flags of European Union confiscated.

Democratic candidates, members of their initiative teams, activists of civil campaigns felt constant pressure and repressions during the election campaign.
Candidates for “members of parliament” brutally beaten up in Minsk
On September 16, on the Day of Solidarity, a rally dedicated to the anniversary of abduction of opposition leaders Viktar Hanchar and Anatol Krasouski was disbanded. Riot policemen have brutally beaten up the candidate for “parliament” “deputies”, including the leader of the United Democratic Party Anatol Lyabedzka, a deputy chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Vintsuk Vyachorka and his son, a youth leader Franak Vyachorka and others. Riot policemen tore European and national flags.
