The release of those pardoned is expected tomorrow or the day after tomorrow
The department for carrying out punishments of the Belarusian Interior Ministry is ready quickly to fulfil Lukashenko's decree to pardon nine people convicted for the events on 19 December 2010.
But the decree has not yet reached the department; its head, Aleksandr Barsuko, has communicated this to “Radio Liberty” .
“Today, the decree is arriving at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and from there it will reach us for execution. We will fulfill it as soon as possible, in accordance with applicable law. It all depends on when the decree will come to us and we will implement it immediately. We will need to prepare the appropriate documents.
It is possible that nobody will be released tonight, so we should expect the release tomorrow or the day after tomorrow,” said Barsukov on Friday 12 August.
