Amnesty International will turn to the international community about the torture of Andrei Sannikov
The influential international human rights organization "Amnesty International" will send letters to the governments of countries, international organizations and human rights organisations, calling attention to the torture which Andrei Sannikov, the arrested presidential candidate, has been undergoing.
His sister, Irina Bogdanova, has told charter97.org about this.
Today at a meeting with the leadership of the organization in its London office, the issue was the lack of medical attention during the trial, but a few hours ago Andrei Sannikov made a statement – about torture in the KGB jail and threats against his wife and son – and this created a shock.
In “Amnesty International” a reassurance was given that it will make every effort to make information about the torture reach the world’s attention immediately.
