Day of Solidarity with Political Prisoners
Belarus Free Theatre, touring throughout April and May in the New York theatre "La Mama", spent 19 April at an evening of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners as part of the civil campaign "Free Belarus Now".
On that evening, the audience could see the play “Discovering Love”, created on the basis of documentary material, relating the love story of Irina and Anantoliy Krasovskiy, and the tragedy that befell their family. After the performance, a public discussion was held, with the participation of theatre director Natalya Kolyada and the executive director of the human rights organization “Amnesty International”, Larry Cox.
After the public discussion, members of the audience were photographed with portraits of Belarusian political prisoners, as a mark of solidarity.
