The presidential candidate, Andrei Sannikov, is to be transferred to the prison in Novopolotsk on 25 July.

Irina Khalip, the politician’s wife, has informed “Belarusian Partisan” about this.

On 14 May the Partizanskii District Court of Minsk, chaired by Judge Natalya Chetvertkova, proclaimed Sannikov guilty under Article 293, Part 1, of the Criminal Code (organization of mass disorders) and sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment, to be served in a “strict regime” prison.

Oleg Gnedchik was sentenced to four years in a “strict regime” prison; Vladimir Eryomenok, Ilya Vasilevich and Fedor Mirzoyanov were sentenced to three years in a “strict regime” prison.

On 15 July Minsk City Court dismissed the appeal against the sentence on presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov and on other participants of the peaceful protests against the falsified results of the presidential election on 19 December 2010: Oleg Gnedchik, Vladimir Eryomenok, Ilya Vasilevich and Fedor Mirzayanov.

The judges were Sergei Khripach, Victoria Zaitseva and Olga Komarovskaya. The prosecutor was Anton Zagorovskii.
