The criminal case against the former candidate for the Belarusian presidency, Neklayev, consists of 29 files; against Sannikov – 8 files; against Uss – half a file.
Today an application was lodged with the the prosecutor, concerning a change in the restraint measures against ex-candidate Andrei Sannikov, an ending of the criminal case against him and the carrying out of a further investigation.
Sannikov’s lawyers, Marina Kovalevskaya and Andrei Varvashevich, have reported this fact to the agency “Interfax West”.
“After finally studying the case (last Friday – IF) an application has been lodged with the chief of the investigative bodies (SUPR) of Minsk City Executive Committee; also we will appeal against the refusal to change the restraint measures, in the Minsk City Court,” the lawyers noted.
The criminal case against A. Sannikov, according to the barristers, consists of 8 files.
Vladimir Bukshtynov, the lawyer of former candidate Vladimir Neklyaev, told the agency “Interfax-West” that over the weekend his client had finished reading the criminal case. “We have no plans at this stage to submit any applications,” said the defending barrister. The criminal case, according to V. Bukshtynova, consists of 29 files. However, the lawyer found it difficult to determine how many of the files are related directly to V. Neklyaev.
Marina Stankevich, the lawyer of Nicholai Statkevich, said that the case against her client, involving 7 people, consists of 5-7 files.
Ex-presidential candidate Dmitrii Uss, who also has finished reading his case materials, said that the related episodes “occupy at the most half a file.”
As “Interfax-West” reported earlier, the criminal cases of N. Statkevich and D. Uss have already been transferred to the Lenin Didstrict Court of Minsk. A date for considering the case has not yet been set.
